Today 5.8.2020, One Idhyavarman Thiruporur MLA (DMK) filed Bail application and the same was listed today before Hon’ble Justice N.Sathishkumar. Mr.A.Natarajan-State Public Prosecutor Appeared for the State and Mr.Shanmugam Sundaram Senior Advocate appeared for the accused. State PP informed the court that there was long standing land dispute prevailing between the accused Mr.Idhyavarman MLA and the De-facto complainant. State PP said that on the day of occurrence both the parties organised a meeting and one groups of persons was led by Mr.Idhyavarman MLA and another group was led by complainant Mr.Kumar. State PP informed the court that they started a wordy quarrel with each other. Mr.Idhyavarman MLA was armed with pistol and also having SBBL Gun (rifle) and his hetchman around 70 persons armed with lethal weapons. During the meeting was taking place all of a sudden Mr.Idayavarman MLA started firing at the rival gang from his weapons – a pistol and a SBBL Gun. First he fired from his pistol aimed at the de-facto complainant Kumar and immediately Kumar and his men escaped from the Scene of crime his Innova car. Then he fired his SBBL Gun towards the crowd indiscriminately. State PP vehemently objected the bail petition and argued that the License for the pistol and SBBL, used for the commission of the crime had already been expired on 31/12/2019 but the same was been used by Mr.Idhyavarman MLA. Also on 15/07/2020, an air rifle (0.22 Calibre) was possesed illegally by Mr.Idhyavarman MLA without any License. State PP A.Natarajan also informed the court that during investigation it was revealed that an apparatus used to manufacture cartridges for SBBL, 4 live rounds of pistol, used cartridges and around 3 Kg of lead balls materials and found under the custody of the accused Mr.Idhyavarman MLA. State PP also informed that the accused Mr.Idhyavarman MLA is running a manufacturing unit and illegally manufacturing ammunition inside his farm house. Police seized and recovered all the ammunition and materials used for production. State PP also informed that the police had also recovered another air rifle (.22 calibre) seized from the accused Mr.Idhyavarman MLA possession, on 15/07/2020 without any license.

State PP informed due to this incident one Mr.Srinivasan was injured and Two pellets have been recovered from his body after conducting surgery on the victim. State PP vehemently informed the court that being a powerful person, if the accused is enlarged on bail, it will be a threat to the victim Mr Srinivasan and already personal secutity – Armed police protection has been given to the de-facto complainant house due to threat from the accused. Therefore tension prevails in the village. The accused Idhyavarman MLA is also not cooperating with the investigation. State PP informed that hence a broader and deeper investigation has to be carried out to find out source of the weapon and ammunitions and whether he has connections with any prohibited agency /anti social organizations/elements. After hearing the arguements of both side the
Hon’ble Justice N.Satish Kumar had directed the Police to produce CD files of this cases and Adjourned the case.
