Nirmal Kumar on Wednesday withdrew a public interest litigation petition filed by him in 2023 challenging the constitution of a Fact Check Unit, led by Iyan Karthikeyan, by the then DMK regime. #MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice’s Bench permitted him to withdraw the plea. The Minister had filed the case during his stint as Information Technology wing joint secretary of the AIADMK.
