  Justices S.M. Subramaniam and K. Surender of #MadrasHighCourt insist that Tamil Nadu Director General of Police must file an affidavit by April 1, 2026 stating that immediately after the model code of conduct comes to an end in the State, all police personnel on other duty would be directed to return to their parent departments in order to end the practice of retired as well as serving police officers using police personnel for household work in their residences due to the colonial practice of engaging orderlies.
