During the rainy season when the water flows across the surplus water channel, people in the area face difficulty to cross the area.Though the residents of the area have submitted several representations to the authorities concerned to construct a foot overbridge there, no steps were taken in this regard so far.Hence, the petitioner moved the high courtย Maduraiย bench seeking for a direction. Hearing the plea, a division bench of justice M Duraiswamy and justice T Ravindran sought a response from the state government and adjourned the case to a further date for hearing.
Justice R Mahadevan gave the direction in a recent order, dismissing a batch of petitions filed by several candidates seeking appointment to the posts. The candidates approached the court after the bank rejected their applications stating that it would not appoint anyone directly based on applications without notifying the vacancies and calling for applications through public advertisement.
