Justice R. Suresh Kumar, Judge, the Madras High Court and Acting Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, urged the youth to refrain from drug abuse and dedicate themselves to serving society with responsibility and integrity.
Speaking at a legal awareness programme in Pudukottai on Sunday evening under NALSA (JAGRITI – Justice Awareness for Grassroots Information and Transparency Initiative) Scheme, 2025, organised by the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, Justice Suresh Kumar said that drug addiction had spread across the country and there was a need to pay particular attention to curbing its prevalence in prisons, schools, and colleges.
He emphasised that young people should focus on their responsibilities and time management. “Do not depend on or follow anyone blindly. No one else can protect you — only your hard work will earn your food, livelihood, and a good future for your children,” he said.
