A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court against the alleged kidney trafficking at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Hospital, linked to the father of the DMK MLA from Manachanallur.

Division Bench consists of Hon’ble Judges S.M. Subramaniam J and Arul Murugan J passed an order that A Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by IG Prem Anand Sinha has been constituted at Madurai to investigate the kidney trafficking and illegal organ trade racket. The team includes four SPs – Nisha, Silambarasan, Karthikeyan, and B.K. Aravind Aiyer – with defined responsibilities. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court will directly supervise and monitor the SIT, ensuring a fair, scientific, and time-bound probe into the scandal.
