On 23.03.2026, a truck bearing Registration No. TN 30 L 0896, belonging to VRL Logistics Limited, arrived at the Collectorate, Nagercoil. On suspicion, our party members inspected the premises and enquired about the contents of the said vehicle. The officials present informed that several hundreds of sewing machines were being unloaded for distribution to beneficiaries under the “Ungaludan Stalin” scheme.

Immediately, our party members raised objections with the Tahsildar concerned.

The incident of unloading sewing machines at the Collectorate was widely reported in social media as well as television news channels.

It is submitted that permitting the receipt and unloading of welfare goods intended for public distribution after the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is highly objectionable and constitutes a clear violation of electoral norms. Such actions amount to unethical electoral practices and undermine the principle of free and fair elections.
