Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to constitute and appoint the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and other members for National Commission for Backward Classes at the earliest and consequently direct the respondents to set up the State/Regional National Commission for Backward Classes’ units.

This petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to constitute and appoint the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and other members for National Commission for Backward Classes at the earliest and consequently direct the respondents to set up the State/Regional National Commission for
Backward Classes’ units.

2. Learned counsel for the respondents would submit that the process of appointment is going on and as of now, Chairperson and one Member have already been appointed and steps are being taken to complete the process.
Placing on record the aforesaid statement, this petition, at this stage, is disposed of, however, reserving liberty to revive, in case the appointment process is not completed in six months. There shall be no order as to costs.
