CONDOLENCE MESSAGE
Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.R. Lakshmanan was enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry on 10.01.1968. He was appointed as Judge of Madras High Court in the year 1990 and elevated as the Chief Justice of Kerala in the year 1997. Subsequently, he was served as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh till 2002. Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.R. Lakshmanan was appointed as a Judge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the year 2002 and retired in the year 2007. He was also held the post of Chairman of the Law Commission of India and submitted various reports to the Government on Judicial reforms.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.R. Lakshmanan was a Judge of simple habits and he was very reserved in nature but dedicated to his work. He always adhered to his principles and his judgments were lucid and to the point. He was really a self-made man, who rouse to occupy high constitutional office of Judge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India with his hard work and great glory and was dedicated to the cause of justice. He was the humanitarian Judge and adopted equity in deciding the cases.
In the demise of Hon’ble Dr. Justice A.R. Lakshmanan, we have lost one of the most versatile members of the legal fraternity. His death must be a great loss to the members of his family. On behalf of the legal fraternity, the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry express our heartfelt deepest condolences to his family members and friends and pray to give them strength to bear irretrievable loss. May the almighty bestow to the departed soul.
