Prayer:- This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose off the petitioner’s complaint under Section 18(3) of the Right to Information Act dated 28.12.2019 and consequently direct the respondents 2 to 6 to disclose appropriate information as requested by the petitioner.

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner’s complaint under Section 18(3) of the Right to Information Act dated 28.12.2019 and consequently direct the respondents 2 to 6 to disclose appropriate information as requested by the petitioner.
- When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is aggrieved by the wrong information furnished by the Commission repeatedly.
- It is seen that the relief sought for by the petitioner in the present writ petition is to dispose of his complaint dated 28.12.2019 made under Section 18(3) of the Right to Information Act (RTI Act), which has been duly complied with by the respondents. In case the petitioner has got any grievance by the information of the Commission, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the same before the appropriate forum in the manner known to law.
- The authorities under the RTI Act, be it the first authority, the appellate authority or commission, needs to certify each page of the documents and affix their signature along with furnishing of Aadhar Card Number in each page. In case of any falsification or erroneous statement, the authorities can be proceeded against for furnishing false information, both departmentally and also by invoking the relevant penal provisions. Commission is expected to issue a circular to all the authorities who are entrusted with the work of providing particulars to the applicants under the RTI Act.
- With the above direction the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
