The petitioner file public interest litigation as W.P.23388/2025 alleging illegal mining.

The 7th Respondent, fully acquainted with the facts, contends that the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is based on false and misleading claims, filed with ulterior motives to malign his reputation rather than serve any public cause. He holds a valid mining licence granted by the Director of Geology and Mining on 22.02.2025 for gravel extraction in specific survey numbers (122/1, 124/3, 124/4, and 124/5), covering 2.11.75 hectares. The petitioner, however, has falsely alleged illegal mining in unrelated survey numbers (113/7, 113/8, and 120/2), where the respondent has no operations.

The respondent states that the petitioner misrepresented himself as an agriculturist, though he is in fact a wholesale and retail dealer in M-sand and B-sand, operating without proper licences. Long-standing enmity exists due to a past refusal by the respondent to assist the petitioner in an illegal matter. The petitioner allegedly has a criminal background with multiple FIRs, including for illegal mining, family disputes, and IT Act violations involving defamatory posts against the respondent.

The respondent asserts that the PIL is politically motivated, intended to defame him, and supported by fabricated allegations. He urges the court to reject the petition as an abuse of legal process for personal vendetta.
