Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the impugned charge sheet in C.C.No.1571 of 2025, currently pending on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Puducherry, was filed against the petitioner for the offences under Sections 153B, 295A, 298 and 504 of IPC, without obtaining prior sanction as mandated under Section 196(1A) of Cr.P.C. She further submitted that the alleged occurrence is said to have taken place on 09.11.2019 and the maximum punishment prescribed for the aforesaid offences is Imprisonment for a period of three years or with fine or with both. In such circumstances, the final report ought to have been filed within a period of three years as mandated under Section 468(2)(c) of Cr.P.C. However, in the present case, the final report was filed only on 30.10.2025, which is beyond the period of limitation.

2. Mr.M.V.Ramachandra Murthy, learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry), takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and seeks time to get instructions in this regard.

3. In view of the above, post the matter on 28.04.2026.
