1. Court can excuse delay of defendant in entering appearance or in applying leave to defend on sufficient cause
2. Court can set aside decree and leave to defend the suit under special circumstances
3. Court on satisfaction issue warrant of arrest to show cause why he should not furnish security
4. Court shall order deposit into court the suit claim where the defendant fails to answer or to furnish security
5. Court can commit defendant to civil prison where defendant fails to comply rule 2 or 3
