Suo Motu Contempt Proceedings initiated against the Contemnor herein as per the order of the Court, dated 04.01.2022 made in W.M.P.No.27972 of 2021 in W.P.No.4359 of 2020.

ORDER
(The Order of the Court was made by The Honourable Chief Justice)
The Court took cognizance of the fact that, despite direction, the Presiding Officer of the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore, had failed to decide the matter within the time frame given by this Court. Extension of time was not prayed for by the Debts Recovery Tribunal, but by the litigant and that too, without justifying the delay in disposal of the case. Notice for contempt was accordingly served on the Presiding Officer of the Debts Recovery Tribunal for non-compliance of the order of this Court. The contemnor is present in person and unconditional apology has been tendered. To dispose of the pending matter, extension of period is sought. Taking into consideration the facts of the case, a prima-facie case is found against the contemnor for non-compliance of the order of this Court. The unconditional apology tendered by him is however accepted. Accordingly, the notice of contempt is discharged. However, the Presiding Officer is now directed to decide the pending S.A.No.73 of 2020 within a period of four
months. The further extension would not be accepted.
2. With the aforesaid direction, this Suo Motu Contempt Petition is
disposed of.
