Subject: Representation Seeking Action Against Mr.A. Raja, Member of Parliament (DMK), for Making Derogatory and Malicious Statements against the Chief Election Commissioner of India by initiating proceedings to disqualify him.
Respected Sir/Madam,
1, respectfully submit this representation seeking urgent intervention of the Hon’ble Election Commission of India regarding the grossly inappropriate, malicious, and misleading statements made by Shri A. Raja, Member of Parliament (DMK) during a recent meeting.
1. On 15.11.2025 Saturday, during a training camp of Thiruvidaimarudhur Assembly Constituency, Tanjore North District at Thiruvidaimaruthur, conducted by the DMK party the said MP delivered a speech criticising the process of
Special Intensive Revision (SIR)which was broadcast widely on
News Tamil Channel and further circulated across various including face book page named “ThambaJeyamaruthi” and in URL https://www.youtube.com/live/8s5xQiJqa2g?si=wfnkJ8vAwbY mg7Fp in News Tamil Channel and other channels.
2. In his speech, Shri A. Raja stated that “we are forced to start the election work because unlike those days, now the entire Election Commissiön of India is a THIEF” and further alleged that the institution is “led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who are BIGGER THIEVES.’
3. These statements are false, defamatory, and aimed at undermining the credibility of the Election Commission of India, which is a constitutional body vested with the responsibility of ensuring free, fair, and impartial elections.
4. Such remarks are not mere political criticism, but a direct attack on the integrity, independence, and impartiality of the Commission, and have the potential to erode public trust in the democratic process.
5. Also publicly calling the Prime Minister and Union Home
Minister as “thieves” and alleging that the entire Election Commission is fraudulent constitute highly provocative, misleading, and irresponsible conduct, unbecoming of a
Member of Parliament.
6. These statements also amounts to provoke the public against the Election Commission and to create disturbance to Public Tranquillity and Public order. It would also create a confusion in the process of SIR during this sensitive period.
7. Moreover Mr.A.Raja has conveniently forgotten that he himself was elected as an MP from Nilgiri Constituency by the election proc ss conducted by the very same constitutional body “Election Commission of India”.
8. These statements are made outside the floor of the house and hence the person cannot take shelter under Art. 105 of the Constitution of India. These statements are made knowing fully well that they are not correct and has been made to mislead the people. It is a misconduct and affects the autonomy, reputation and functioning of the Election Commission. It imputs discredit to the election Commission. These statements are made to create mischief among the people.
In view of the above, I humbly request the Hon’ble Chief Electoral Officer to take appropriate action against Mr.A.Raja for making derogatory and malicious statements against the Election Commission of India by directing the authorities to take action against Mr.A.Raja in order to disqualify him.

Hence, I request the Commission to treat this complaint with utmost seriousness and take immediate action.
