The plea also seeks to ensure that Tamil Nadu’s state song “Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu” is played at the commencement of the ceremony.

- Rasnam Foods, the owners of the popular Geetham chain of restaurants in Chennai have filed an appeal before the #MadrasHighCourt against a single judge’s order to pay the entire profits earned by them between June 1, 2022, and November 2, 2023 to the owners of the other popular Sangeetha chain of restaurants. Sangeetha Caterers and Consultants LLP too had already filed a separate appeal against the single judge’s order for having decreed its trademark infringement suit only partly and not fully. Geetham’s appeal has been listed before a Division Bench of Justices P. Velmurugan and K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi today. @THChennai Backgrounder👇
- DVAC files a petition before the Principal Sessions Court in Chennai expressing its intention to reinvestigate the ₹27.90 crore bribery case against AIADMK former Minister R. Vaithilingam who had resigned his MLA post and joined DMK in January 2026. The DVAC had initially filed a closure report in the case in the last week of February 2026 but had now changed its stand after a change in the regime and after the filing of protest petitions by the ED and Arappor Iyakkam @THChennai Backgrounder 👇
