Prayer: i) Declare the election of the Respondent No.1 as Member of Legislative Assembly from No.179- Viralimalai Assembly Constituency in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly General Election, 2026 as void under sections 100(1)(b) and 100(1)(d)(ii) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. ii) Hold that the Respondent No.1, his election agents and persons acting with his consent has committed corrupt practice within the meaning of Section 123(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. iii) Declare the Petitioner herein as duly elected as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from No.179 – Viralimalai Assembly Constituency in the General Election to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, 2026.

ORDER
The Petitioner is directed to rectify the defects/mistakes in this Election
Petition, within a period of one week from today.
2.Upon such rectification, Registry is directed to issue notice to the respondents returnable in three weeks. Private notice is also permitted. Post the matter after three weeks.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner pointed out that the 1st
Respondent, who is a successful candidate indulged in corrupt practices such as (i) distribution of coupons promising payment of Rs.10,000/- and Rs.2,000/- for the purpose of inducing voters to cast their votes in his favour and the said coupons are annexed as Doc.No.6 to the Petition and (ii) distribution of coupons promising a fridge to voters in their locality and the said coupons are annexed as Doc.No.7 to the Petition and other grounds set out in the EL.P.
