#MadrasHighCourt Chief Justice’s Bench dismisses a public interest litigation petition filed by D. Rakesh of Madurai to prevent the continued screening of Ranveer Singh starrer #Dhurandhar2TheRevenge in Tamil Nadu until the declaration of the Legislative Assembly election results on May 4, 2026. The litigant had claimed that its screening was against the model code of conduct in force since it glorifies the counter terrorism and national security policies of the Centre helmed by the Bharatiya Janata Party which is contesting the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu too. However, the Chief Justice said, the petitioner had not mentioned which portions of the movie were violative of the model code of conduct but for making a bald allegation. CJ also said, the petitioner had not challenged the certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification. @THChennai
