SC refuses to interfere at this stage on the plea by Jana Nayagan Producer, directs the Producer, M/s KVN Productions to argue their case before the Madras HC division bench. SC also asks the Division bench of Madras HC to hear the plea on Jan 20.

NO.25561 OF 2014 Unless stern action is not taken against such officials, who act against the interests of the Government, the day is not too far when the Governmental machinery would be in complete break down and would be at the mercy of unscrupulous elements like the petitioners, who would wield their muscle power and money power to get things done the way they want.   The Government may introspect on the above aforesaid and take necessary steps for setting right the machinery in the larger public interest.

  The very purpose of placing an employee under suspension is defeated if he is conveniently getting 50% of his salary as subsistence allowance without doing any work, due to delay on part of the officials in initiating disciplinary proceedings, the Madras high court judge R sureskumar has said.
