*03.04.’21, EXPERIENCE IN COURT:* *“If you can write like this why have you come to consult me?”* Very early in my Practice in 1941 or 1942 I went to Madras from Nagpur to consult Sir Alladi Krishnaswami in the famous Takoli case which went to the privacy council. Sir Alladi looked into the papers and after I explained the points, he asked me to write a note on the case and my own opinion I had no difficulty as his private library was better than most law libraries including the one of the Federal Court. I worked for three or four days and prepared a note for him and also stated my opinion in detail with reason. He kept it for two days to study it and after this he said to me something which I have always treasured in my memory. He said “If you can write like this why you have come to consult me? And he signed the opinion I had written adding that he had nothing to add. “What Success I had in the profession, I achieved following his example”. “The Secret of Success in the Legal Profession and that is deep study and full preparation.” -By M.Hidayathulla – Former Vice President and Chief Justice of India.
