Pulavar Keeran, one of the greatest orators of Tamil Nadu, had given various discourses on Mahabharata, Ramayan, etc. His discourses were recorded by Vani Recording Company, and the said recording company exploited the works of Lt. Pulavar Keeran without any contract / agreement with Mr. Keeran or his family. The wife of Lt. Keeran had filed a Suit before the Hon’ble Madras High Court in the year 2004 seeking for a declaration that she is the owner of the copyright of all the works of the Lt. Pulavar Keeran. Yesterday (01.09.2021), after 17 years, Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. Subramanian of the Hon’ble Mad HC delivered the Judgment in this Suit holding that Sellapapa Keeran ie, wife of Lt. Pulavar.
