CMRL has conducted Biodiversity and environmental impact assessment reports. The proposed stretch of CMRL Corridor 5 alignment is along the edge of Medavakkam Main Road and the Reserve Forest Boundary. Request submitted to Forest Dept is under active consideration and Tribunal directs Forest Dept to consider the approval under Forest ( Conservation) Act, 1980. The area that may be effected is 0 .48% of 320.92 Hectares. CMRL undertakes to provide precautions to protect Indian Eagle Owl which has nesting inside the Forest. The Forest Department to consider the approval without any delay
