This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioners
[A.1 & A.12] seeking anticipatory bail, apprehending arrest by the first
respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under sections 465,
467, 468 r/w 471 of IPC in Crime No.62 of 2012.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners in connivance with
other accused, fabricated documents to claim the property in Pallikaranai
measuring to an extent of 66.70 acres, worth about several crores belonging
to the Government for a meagre amount of Rs.66 Crores. That apart, the
land is a marsh land and it is required for protection of environment and
birds. No one has right/title/interest to convey the marsh land in anybody’s
favour or even to purchase the same. That being so, the accused cannot
claim right over the same. They clandestinely registered the document in the
Royapuram Sub-Registrar Office alongwith 453 sq.ft. of property in
Tondiarpet by fraud. The prosecution also categorically stated that the
