1) Allegation of offence
2) A complaint need not set out all the facts on which the accused is being charged but it must contain statement of facts on as constituting the offence in ordinary and concise language.
3) A complaint may be oral or written allegations, but it need not be in any particular form.
4) A complaint must be with a view that magistrate take action under Criminal Procedure code , 1973
5) There is no particular format for complaint.Nomenclature is also inconsequential a petition address to the magistrate containing allegation that an offence has been committed with an prayer prosecution of accused, is a complaint ( Mohamed yousuf vs Afaq Jahan) 2006 1SCC 627.
