- Following a legal opinion tendered by Advocate General Vijay Narayan, TASMAC tells #MadrasHighCourt that the Tamil Nadu government is considering a proposal to include the refundable deposit of ₹10, being collected from individual customers as part of the empty bottle buyback scheme, in the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of every liquor bottle. Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari would declare open an exclusive lounge for designated Senior Counsel on the occasion. The High Court’s Heritage Committee comprising Justices G. Jayachandran, P.T. Asha, C.Saravanan and N. Mala has given a new lease of life to the entire building by giving attention to even small details such as the lighting inside the court halls and on the corridors. Senior Counsel N.L. Rajah too had been actively involved in the process.
