Tamil Nadu Government has informed the #MadrasHighCourt of having sought the assistance of IIT-M to study the effects of microplastics on human health due to consumption of food products such as milk, tea, coffee & hot sambar sold in plastic pouches. Justices N. Sathish Kumar and D. Bharatha Chakravarthy had impressed upon the need for the Centre as well as State Government to conduct such studies since a research conducted by a private medical institute had found the microplastics affecting pregnant women @THChennai
