MP No. 184 of 2025, the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras has directed CBI/ACB/Chennai to conduct de novo investigation on the complaints lodged by the Petitioners i.e. Arappor Iyakkam, represented by its Managing Trustee Shri Jayaram Venkatesan, Nungambakkam Chennai, Shri E.Saravanan, Deputy Secretary AIADMK Advocate Wing, Hasthampatty,
Salem and Shri Rajkumar, Maruthinagar, Meikilarpatti, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai
District to the Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Alandur,
Chennai seeking FIR and investigation on the allegation of corruption in Tenders floated for the supply of Distribution Transformers of range of specifications starting from 25 KVA up to 500 KVA, during the years 2021, 2022 and 2023 by TANGEDCO leading to unjust enrichment to the Bidders and corresponding loss to the government exchequer to the tune of Rs.397 Crores.
Thus, the above allegation discloses the commission of offences
punishable U/s.7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) and
