Ravi Shankar Prasad, on 04.12.2019 and submitted representations seeking to fill up the Judges vacancies in the Hon’ble High Court and also invited to inaugurate the Continuous Legal Education to be conducted by the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherrry. Likewise, today, i.e., 05.12.2019, the Office Bearers and Members of the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry met the Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport and National Highways, Shri. Nitin Gadkari, and submitted representation regarding the Payment of Compensation for Motor Accident Victims in one Lump Sum instead of Under an Annuity Scheme framing of Appropriate Rules and requested to exempt the payment of Toll Fee for the Advocates practicing all over Tamilnadu and Puducherry by amending the Rules. Both the Ministers have assured that they will consider the request made by the Office Bearers and the Members of the Bar Council of Tamilnadu and Puducherry very shortly and necessary action will be taken on our representations. Justice M Dhandapani said that petitioner L Nagaraj worked as assistant executive engineer in the department for more than 33 years and retired without any blemish. Hence, the charge memo issued against him after his retirement is unsustainable. He was working in Tangedco at Pugalur in Trichy district and retired from service on June 30, 2014.
