Anand Venkatesh allowed THREE Crl OPs 857, 931 & 932/2021 and quashed today (25.1.2021) the criminal complaint CC 6, 8 & 10 of 2012 for DEFAMATION pending against JUNIOR VIKATAN filed by the City Public Prosecutor, Chennai on behalf of then Chief Minister Jayalalitha in respect of publication of news item about. The Judge held that the impugned publication has no reasonable connection with discharge of public function by or the office of the Chief Minister to fall under section 199(2) of Cr.PC. For Junior Vikatan, N.Ramesh appeared and argued.
