PRESS NOTE
As per the guidance of the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court, Madras/ Patron-in-Chief of TNSLSA and as per the
directions of the Hon’ble Executive Chairman of TNSLSA, this Authority has directed all the Legal Services Institutions across the State to hold Next National Lok Adalat on 13.09.2025 (Saturday).
Following types of cases (Pre-litigation and Pending) are to be taken up in the ensuing National Lok Adalat.
Pre Litigation:
1. NI Act cases under Section 138
2. Money Recovery cases
3. Labour disputes cases
4. Electricity and Water Bills (excluding non-compoundable)
5. Maintenance Cases
6. Other cases (Criminal Compoundable, Matrimonial and other Civil disputes)
Pending in the Courts (Which are reflected on National Judicial Data Grid)
1. Criminal Compoundable Offence cases
2. NI Act cases under Section 138
3. Money Recovery cases
4. Motor Accident Claim cases
5. Labour dispute cases
6. Disputes related to Public Utility services such as
Electricity and Water Bills cases (excluding non compoundable)
7. Matrimonial/Family dispute cases
8. Land Acquisition cases
9. Service matters including pension cases
10. Revenue and other ancillary matters, pending before High Court and
District Courts
11. IPR matters/Consumer matters/also other matters pending before
any quasi-judicial authority
12. Other civil cases (rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance
suits) etc.
TNSLSA has made arrangements to facilitate amicable settlement between the parties.
The High Court Legal Services Committee has constituted 6 benches at the Principal Seat of High Court of Madras and 3 benches at the Madurai Bench of the High Court of Madras.
In all the District Legal Services Authorities and Taluk Legal Services Committees, totally, 498 benches have been constituted.
Totally, 1,96,634 cases are to be taken up for amicable settlement (1,38,708 pending cases and 57,926 pre-litigation matters).
