No evidence found of murder of children in Muzaffarpur shelter home case, the CBI tells the Supreme Court Thirtyfive girls believed to have been murdered in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual abuse case had been found to be alive, the CBI told the Supreme Court on Wednesday. Allegations about the ‘murders’ had first surfaced last year in the statements of girls rescued from the shelter home run by the kingpin, Brajesh Thakur. The CBI had also found that the names of these had mysteriously disappeared from the balikagarh (girls’ home). In March 2019, the agency told the court that 35 girls with identical or similar names had indeed lived in the shelter home at one point of time or the other.

For all these reasons, this Court could able to arrive at an irresistible conclusion that the writ order impugned is not in consonance with the Pension Rules applicable for inclusion of the name of the second wife as nominee and grant of Family Pension. Thus, the impugned writ order dated 02.11.2021 in W.P.No.2183 of 2021 is set aside and the Writ Appeal stands allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (S.M.S.,J.)
