My Dear young lawyers
Ladies and Gentlemen !
Indeed it is yet another proud movement, where we have assembled here to felicitate our beloved Chief Justice who has taken oath as the Chief Justice of this Chartered High Court three days back.
Already number of Speakers spoke lot about our Chief Justice and since Galaxy of Speakers had taken out time, I want to be brief.
Our Chief Justice is hailing from a family of Educationists, Academicians and Lawyers. His uncle was a lawyer, his elder brother was a lawyer under whom he was initially groomed.
He has studied at his native place Bilaspur. His initial practice was at District Court at Raigarh. During this period, the Chief Justice has started his practice most probably in the conventional area of practice, i.e., Civil and Criminal practice. Thereafter he was shifted to the Headquarters of Madhya Pradesh Judiciary, Jabalpur, where he started practice under the able guidance of his elder brother at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh. He had been dealing with cases with wide range of subjects including Constitutional Law, Labour and Service matters, Education, Election and Local Laws etc.,
The Chief Justice has gained tremendous experience as a lawyer in almost all the fields of law, both in the trial side as well as in the appellate side covering almost all branches of law.
In a Cricket team, normally there will be three or four All Rounders, remaining will be either Batsman or Bowler, but these all Rounders, most of the time will take the team into a victory path as they would have the capability of facing any eventuality or challenges posed on them at any difficult time.
Like that, in any Institution or Organisation, if we have persons with multi-talent, that would be greatly helpful to the Institution or the Organisation and if the very leader of the team himself is a All Rounder, certainly the leader would bring continuous laurels to the team.
Here initially such a benefit has been, as a team member was given by our Chief to the Chattisgarh High Court and thereafter as a leader of the team, our Chief Justice had taken the Rajasthan High Court in his hands for more than 1 1/2 years as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court. With such a vast experience, since our Chief Justice has come to the Madras High Court, I need not explain the result, as the State Judiciary would be totally benefited, because of the vast experience in all branches of law on the Judicial side and also his 16 years Judgeship would pave the way for a fantastic administration of our High Court and the State Judiciary.
During his College days, when he studied law at K.R.Law College in Bilaspur, he stood first in order of merit and he was awarded a Gold Medal. He was also nominated as a member in the Board of Studies and Academic Council of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya University.
Our Chief had a basic degree in Science and then studied the Law Degree.
As I said earlier, since he hails from a family of Educationists, Academicians and Lawyers and he himself is a Gold medal winner during his college days and by his extensive practice in all fields of law and by his very rich experience as a Judge of the High Court of Chattisgarh and also Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, certainly his knowledge and experience will be gainfully utilized by him towards the development and glory of the Madras High Court and the State Judiciary.

The meaning being, if we compare the ruler of the country and a learned, the learned will always be the best. The ruler will be respected only in his territory, whereas the learned will be respected and recognized wherever he goes.
Our Chief Justice is the learned. Therefore, though his journey of learning starts at Bilaspur, he moved to Jabalpur and then moved to Jodhpur and Jaipur, now has come to Chennai. Wherever the place he goes, he will be recognized, he will be cherished and he alone will be celebrated. The journey would not stop at Chennai and we all wish that his journey should continue to reach the final destination at New Delhi at an earliest point of time.
With these words I wish our Chief Justice a great Success in all his future endeavours.
Thank you.
