FCRA Amendment Bill 2026 — TO be tabled in the Parliament in the next week
When the Parliament convened on 20th July 2026, on the same day evening, we organised National Consultation on the Proposed Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 at the India International Centre, New Delhi from 6pm to 9:30 pm.
More than 100 Members ofParliament, church leaders, healthcare professionals, educationists, civil society representatives and leaders of Christian organisations from across the country participated in the National Consultation. All the Members of Parliament and the Church leaders unanimously affirmed that the proposed amendments constitute an attack on India’s secular constitutional order and called upon the Union Government to immediately withdraw the proposed FCRA (Amendment) Bill, 2026, after undertaking meaningful consultation with all affected stakeholders.
Based on these developments, Mr. P.Wilson, MP in the capacity ofthe Chairman, Joint Action Forum of Minorities has submitted a representation to the Hon’ble Home Minister seeking their appointment to discuss and present our concerns and constructive suggestions regarding the proposed Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026. Along with the representation, the physical copies comprising of more than 15,000 physical signatures were also submitted. We are hopeful that we may be granted an appointment early next week.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 may be introduced in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha during the coming week..
In response, our collective efforts will focus on the following three key initiatives:
I.Engagement with Political Leaders
We will continue to engage with political leaders across party lines to evolve an appropriate strategy, when the Government introduces the Bill in Parliament. We will also make every effort to ensure that the proposed legislation is referred to the appropriate Parliamentary Committee for detailed examination and wider stakeholder consultation before any final decision is taken.

2. National Day of Prayer and Fasting — Sunday, 2 August 2026
As the Christian community, we believe that our first and greatest response must be to seek God’s intervention in prayer. We therefore call upon churches, Christian families, mission organisations, and believers across India to observe a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on Sunday, 2 August 2026. A similar nationwide prayer initiative was observed on 28 June 2026, bringing together believers across denominations in united intercession. Once again, let us stand together in humble and earnest prayer, seeking God’s mercy, wisdom, and guidance for our nation, and asking Him to intervene graciously in this matter. Please share this message with your churches and leaders for informing all the Christians across the nation,
3. Engagement with Members of Parliament
We encourage Christian leaders across the country to meet their respective Members of Parliament and respectfully present their concerns regarding the proposed Bill. Thoughtful and courteous engagement with elected representatives at the constituency level will be an important part of our collective endeavour, helping them better understand the potential implications of the proposed legislation and the concerns of the Christian community.
We will appreciate your support and prayers
With warm regards,

P. Wilson
