The Promoters of high value properties such as S2 Spectrum mall Perambur , IT Park Marg Square on OMR Chennai , Ocean Spray Resort resort Pondicherry approached the HC that they were not Benamidars of Sasikala and sought to quash the proceedings under Benami 2016.
The Benami Unit of the IT dept had attached these properties holding that the Promoters are Benamidars and Sasikala as Beneficial Owner which were transacted to the tune of 1600 Crores by using demonetised notes of rs 500 and 1000 in Dec 2016.
Justice Anita Sumanth dismissed these Writ Petitions .
