Dr. SUGANTHY RAJAKUMARI is appointed as the DIRECTOR of MEDICAL EDUCATION and RESEARCH (DME) in the State of Tamilnadu.

Dr. SUGANTHY RAJAKUMARI is appointed as the DIRECTOR of MEDICAL EDUCATION and RESEARCH (DME) in the State of Tamilnadu.

She hails from North Surankudi, a village in Kanyakumari District. Having begun her elementary education in a Government School in the village, she secured District Rank in the 8th standard and awarded with Murasoli Maran scholarship for the rest of her school education.

She did her Higher Secondary in Duthie Higher Secondary School at Nagercoil, MBBS Degree in the Government Medical College at Tirunelveli, Masters Degree (MD) in Dermatology in the Madras Medical College and bagged all the three Gold Medals at the University level.

In her long career spreading over 36 years, she served as Professor and HOD and later as Dean in the Kanyakumari Medical College (November 2019 to May 2021) and now at Dindigul Government Medical College. She also served as Additional Director of Medical Education from August to December 2021.

Her father Dr. A. Bennett Rajadhurai is a former Head of Department of English in the Scott Christian College at Nagercoil. Her mother was a School Teacher.

She is married to Mr. Isaac Mohanlal, Senior Advocate in the Madras High Court who is also a Special Senior Advocate for the Government of Tamil Nadu, and President of the Bar Association at the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

She has two daughters, the elder Ms. Abisha Isaac is an Advocate in the Madras High Court married to Dr. H. George Arvind and the younger Ms. Anesha Isaac is an Ophthalmologist married to Mr. S. Nitin Samuel, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax.
