In his interim applica-tion, Pramod Kumar, said that though he had been giv-en DGP rank with effect from 2020, he was given the promotion only in 2024 with retrospective effect. In 2020 and then in 2023 his name was not considered citing pendency of a criminal case against him. He has since been discharged from the case by Madras high court.
