The Writ Petition in W.P. No. 20109 of 2026 filed by the petitioner Mr. Saravanan came up for hearing before the Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.R. Swaminathan at the Principal Seat of the Madras High Court, Chennai.

In the said case, the petitioner challenged the termination order issued by the 3rd Respondent in Letter No. 02-01/2024/Va.Pi. dated 07.11.2025 relating to the infrastructure works at the Mudalipalayam Industrial Estate Project. The petitioner further sought permission to complete the balance works and also prayed for release of outstanding dues exceeding ₹4 Crores for the works already executed by him.

The petitioner had also sought an interim injunction restraining the respondents from proceeding with the remaining works pending disposal of the Writ Petition.

Upon hearing the matter, the Hon’ble Court was pleased to grant an interim order restraining TAHDCO from proceeding with or continuing the remaining project works which were taken over after cancellation of the petitioner’s contract.

The Court’s order is being viewed as significant in protecting the rights of contractors against arbitrary administrative action.
