On 20.09.2021, the Election petition filed by the DMK Candidate M.A.Andiamabalam from 131-Natham Constituency to declare the election of the returned candidate Natham R.Viswanathan, AIADMK candidate as illegal and void and the matter came up for admission before Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.SESHASAYEE. DMK Candidate Thiru M.A.Andiambalam who contested in Tamil Nadu State Assemble Election 2021 from the 131- Natham Constituency, Dindigul District filed Election Petition before the Hon’ble Madras High Court on 16.08.2021 to declare the election of the returned candidate Mr. Natham R.Viswanathan AIADMK candidate as illegal on various grounds including suppression of material facts in Form 26 (Nomination affidavit) and using the government servants assistance to secure votes, campaigning in the last 48 hours violating the Model Code of Conduct and had caused disturbances during election meetings also had also involved in the ground of corrupt practices of bribing voters with cash of Rs. 500 per Aarathi plate cumulatively amounting to Rs.25,00,000/-, other illegal gratifications like saree, liquor amounting to huge expenses and also distributed Rs.10,000/- per 926 Women Slef Helf Groups (SHG), incurring Excess Expenditure which was not accounted in the Expenditure on wall paintings, flex boards, issuing various pamphlets and booklets, etc., amounting to corrupt practice and the returned candidate had spent nearly Rs.34,26,93,736 which was not accounted in the expenditure which the returned candidate had incurred for his election.
