ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon’ble Chief Justice)
By way of this petition, which is styled as a ‘public interest litigation’, the petitioner seeks issuance of a direction to quash the tender proceedings in the matter of lease/license of shops, restaurant, clock rooms, paid toilets, ATM Kiosks in the newly proposed Manakudi bus stand.
2. The petitioner’s apprehension is that as proper facilities have not so far been developed in the bus stand area, those who may come forward to take shops, restaurants etc., may face severe difficulties.
3. The petition is completely baseless and frivolous and appears to be an attempt to somehow stall the development of the bus stand and amenities which are meant for the benefit of the public who will be using the bus stand.
4. The petition is therefore liable to be dismissed and is dismissed with cost of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only), payable to the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, within a period of one month from today.
5. WMP Nos.37496 and 37498 of 2025 are closed.
