Tamil Nadu Kallar Padai Patru Nala Sangam filed a case seeking an Interim Injunction restraining the director and producer of the film from releasing the movie in the name of “Kallan”.

Vijayan Subramanian appeared for director Chandra Thangaraj and producer Etcetera Entertainment mathiayagan.

It was argued that Central Board of Film Certification is the rightful authority to decide the censoring of the film and once the film is certified for screening by the Central Board of Film Certification, no group, organization or association can demand not to censor, on the ground that something in the film hurts the religious, communal, racial or linguistic sentiments of someone or the other.

The Hon’ble Judge after hearing both the parties dismissed the application and refused to injunct the usage of the title Kallan.
