மூத்த வழக்கறிஞர் என் ஆர் இளங்கோ இது அரசியல் காழ்ப்புணர்சிக்காக தொடுக்கப்பட்ட வழக்கு அல்ல என்றும் உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் தனது தீர்ப்பு ஒன்றில் எதிர்க்கட்சிகள், மக்கள் பிரதிநிதிகளாக சட்டமன்றத்துக்கு உள்ளேயும் வெளியேயும்கூட அரசு செய்யும் தவறுகளை சுட்டிக்காட்டி கேள்வி எழுப்பி, (watchdog) கண்காணிக்கும் செயலை செய்து மக்களாட்சி மாண்பிணைக்க காப்பதும் அவர்களது கடமைதான் என்ற தீர்ப்பை மேற்கோள் காட்டி விவாதம் செய்தார். இதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட தலைமை நீதியரசர் அமர்வு மேற்படி மனுவை அனுமதித்து தமிழக அரசு இம்மனுவுக்கு ஆறு வார காலத்துக்குள் பதிலளிக்க வேண்டும் என உத்தரவிட்டு வழக்கினை ஒத்திவைத்தனர்.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests-cum-Chief Wildlife Warden has filed a writ appeal before the #MadrasHighCourt against a single judge’s order directing the forest department to return three female elephants Sandhya (50), Indu (30) & Jayanti (14) to the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The appeal has been listed for hearing before the first Division Bench of Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan tomorrow (January 23, 2026). Justice V. Lakshminarayanan had directed the forest department to return the elephants on January 7, 2026 while disposing of a writ petition filed by the Mutt seeking custody of all three animals. @THChennai
