With the active support of Justice Nisha Banu, Justice P. N. Prakash has collected and contributed from all the judges at Madurai Bench. The said sum was utilised by all the Bar Associations at Madurai Bench to benefit their members.
[4/15, 12:37] Ilango Advt Madurai Mba: On coming to know of the plight of countless number of young and junior advocates in and around Madurai, both in the Bench and Moffusil Courts, MMBA swung into action under the able guidance of the President and hard work of the General Secretary. Initially MMBA collected donation from good Samaritans and deposited a sum of
Rs. 2500 directly into the bank account of beneficiary advocates.
The list of beneficiaries is kept in the file but not disclosed to avoid embarrassment to the persons concerned.
After the lock out, the situation got worse and instead of depositing cash into the bank accounts, MMBA took a novel initiative of supplying essential groceries worth of Rs.1200 in a sealed packet by arrangement with two grocery merchants near the Bench premises.
The applicants are asked to call a dedicated mobile number and code numbers were generated and assigned. The beneficiaries can collect the grocery packets by furnishing the code number to the shop owner.
As the number of applicants started increasing, MMBA started soliciting donations from other sources also within the least fraternity.
With the active support of Justice Nisha Banu, Justice P. N. Prakash has collected and contributed from all the judges at Madurai Bench. The said sum was utilised by all the Bar Associations at Madurai Bench to benefit their members.
President of MMBA has addressed the forum of designated senior advocates and many of them donated liberally.
Dr. Vinoth Surana was kind enough to donate a huge sum.
Contributions from judges and senior Counsels and other advocates proves the adage “Siru thuli Peru Vellam” and MMBA has achieved the target with the pure grace of Almighty and the magnanimity of the donors.
Many of the donors requested us not to disclose their names.
