To Honour Chidambaram, the Advocate, the freedom fighter and labour
leader and also Singaravelar, another Advocate, freedom fighter and
Labour Leader, who celebrated May Day on First May, 1923, Kamaraj
raised the Statue of Labour in the Marina Beach and my Lords will be
seeing that daily while coming here to adorn the Bench and during the
return.
Kamaraj became not only the Chief Minister of Madras but also a
National Leader, a Kingmaker and played key role in the destiny of this
Nation after the demise of Pandit Nehru.
It is V.O. Chidambaram, the eminent Advocate, to take the credit.
This is the pride of the Coat and Gown. Therefore, the Bar should survive with its own funds rather than going
with a begging bowl.
I am grateful for the opportunity given.”
Then, orders were reserved by the Hon’ble Division Bench. This was
19.05.2020.
With great respect to one of the greatest souls of India!
