Tn govt Neet case orders reserved in SC today tn govt advts good argument by Sekar Reporter · Published January 22, 2020 · Updated January 22, 2020 [1/22, 18:20] sekarreporter1: NEET CASE IN SUPREME COURT TODAY In the batch of cases challenging introduction of NEET thro 2010 Notifications listed in SC today, the arguments advanced and Judgment is reserved. Among 79 Petitions listed today, only Counsels for State of Tamil Nadu and Christian Medical College, Vellore made arguments opposing the said Notifications of NEET. State of Tamil Nadu argued that the 2019 Notifications are ultravires, unconstitutional as the parent Act does not authorise to issue such Notifications and the same are also contrary to the Tamil Nadu Act 2006 which abolished the Common Entrance Test and the PG Medical Courses admission policy. State of Tamil Nadu also argued that NEET is not based on merit by pointing out that a student who got less marks in Board Exam got higher mark in NEET exam and got medical seat. Regarding PG Medical admissions, State of TN argued that State has a right to reserve seats for in-service candidates and the said issue is already referred to and pending before a Constitution Bench. State of TN also pointed out that it has already filed a Writ Petition challenging introduction of Section 10D, etc and other Regulations mandating NEET. Most of the Petitioners, including Union Territory of Puducherry did not raise their voice in the Supreme Court against NEET today [1/22, 18:20] sekarreporter1: 👍
