The writ petitions filed by DMK principal secretary K.N. Nehru & MNM leader AG Mourya for conducting grama sabha meetings came for hearing before the First Bench.

Vijayan Subramanian counsel for MNM submitted that writ petition was filed questioning the cancelation of grama dabha meetings all over TN on Oct 2,2020. Further submitted that when the case came up for hearing on 22.01.21, it was brought to the notice of the court that no notifications were issued to conduct of grama sabha meeting on Jan 26. Govt advocate informed the court that it will take a call on conducting grama Sabha meetings on Jan 26.

Counsel for MNM vijayan Subramanian brought to the notice of the court Grama sabha meeting on jan 26th was also canceled by the govt.

Madras HC finally granted two more weeks timr for TN Govt to file counter affidavits otherwise case will be heared on the said date.
