The PIL filed by a practising advocate Mr.P.S.Prabu challenging the Government order relaxing the seating capacity from 50 % to 100 % in theatres /Cineplex/ Multiplex came up for hearing before before the Hon’ble Chief Justice and Hon’ble Mr.justice Senthil Kumar Ramamoorthy .

The PIL filed by a practising advocate Mr.P.S.Prabu challenging the Government order relaxing the seating capacity from 50 % to 100 % in theatres /Cineplex/ Multiplex came up for hearing before before the Hon’ble Chief Justice and Hon’ble Mr.justice Senthil Kumar Ramamoorthy .

Mr.Sathish Parasaran , Senior Advocate appeared on behalf of Mr.Baranidharan, Counsel for the Petitioner.

 

 

 

The Senior Counsel brought to the notice of the Court that the GO is against the Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures issued by the Central Government. It was also submitted that the impugned GO is contrary to the Orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court where there is a direction to State Govt to follow the Guidelines and SOP issued by the Central Govt.

After hearing the Petitioner, the Hon’ble High Court had stayed the Government Order relaxing the seating capacity from 50% to 100 % until further orders.
