[1/7, 15:42] Sekarreporter: Respected Seniors and friends we have assembled
here today (07.01.2020) to mourn the demise of our
member Dr. P.H.PANDIAN, Senior Advocate who
passed away on 04.01.2020. Dr.P.H.Pandian was born on 29th March 1945 to
Mr.P.S.Pandian and Mrs.Joybells Pandian at
Cheranmahadevi, Tirunelveli.
He did his Bachelors Degree in Pachiayappa’s
college, Madras in 1965 and got his B.L.Degree from
Madras Law College in 1967. He was enrolled as an
Advocate on 17.04.1968. He subsequently obtained his
Doctorate in Law from Madras University in 1985.
Initially he joined the Office of Dr.J.S.Athanesius,
City Public Prosecutor and was there between 1967 and
1969 and thereafter joined the office of Justice
V.Ramasamy, Judge, Supreme Court of India as he
then was. He appeared in several Criminal,
Constitutional, Human Rights matters and Public
Interest matters in Supreme Court and Madras High
Court.

Assembly for four consecutive terms between 1977 and
He was elected as Speaker of Tamil Nadu
Legislative Assembly in 1986. He was instrumental in
recovering 17,000 acres of land in ECR, OMR and other
parts of Chengalpet District.

Dr.P.H.Pandian was awarded “Life time
achievement award” by Madras High Court Advocates
Association, Madras YMCA and Lion’s Club of Chennai.
He was married to Late Dr.Cynthia Pandian, Former
Vice Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar
University. They had 4 sons and a daughter.

Vellore.
[1/7, 15:43] Sekarreporter: Dr.P.H.Pandian passed away on 04.01.2020. This
association lost a valuable member who lived, respected
and regretted on his death.
We pray his soul may attain eternal peace and the
family members get strength to get over the grief of this
untimely loss.
As a part of respect to the departed soul we will
observe 2 minutes silence.
