The petitioner is an association registered under the Societies Therefore, the present Writ Appeal and Writ Petitions are dismissed and we reiterate the earlier judgment in W.A.No.2895 of 2019, dated 28.08.2019. Minister denies the charge of having awarded contracts to his brother’s firm Agreeing that registration of a First Information Report (FIR) is a must before conducting a detailed investigation into charges of corrupt practices levelled against Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani in award of contracts by various corporations, the Madras High Court on Friday granted a “final opportunity” till December 18 to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) to complete its preliminary inquiry.
