I raised the issue before Chief Justice A.K Ganguly and Justice F.M Ibrahim Kalifulla that G.K. Mani’s telephones are repeatedly bugged by the IGP (IS) on the instructions of Home Secretary and DGP and a private agency by name D3D Technologies has been given the job to bug. I contended before the DB that his right to privacy is invaded and therefore he made his representation dated 12.08.2008 to the government raising 11 questionnaires in tapping of his cell phone but the Govt did not respond to it. I further contended that In the absence of any rebuttal by the government to those 11 questionnaires raised the adverse inference that had to be drawn against the Govt is that they are continuously bugging to tap Mani’s cell phone without any justification and it’s a politically motivated one and they have no answer for those questionnaires and are sleeping over it by not furnishing the answers and unfortunately the Govt has given the job of bugging to D3D Technologies a private establishment which is illegal and they are violating the right to privacy. The CJ’s Bench after hearing both the sides passed an order directing the DGP to dispose of the representation from PMK president and MLA GK Mani within three weeks.
