Intellectual Property Rights Attorney Association takes a great delight in extending heart-felt greetings to the esteemed personality Advocate M. Ravindran.

I got the opportunity to know him better by hearing his speech on Youtube and it was benefiting to every youngster who are paving their path in the legal world. Every anecdote shared by him was enjoyable on one hand and a lesson in itself on the other. The interactive interview with Mr. Sekar Reporter was a one – on – one experience. Once The Senior Advocate started speaking, I couldn’t peel off my eyes from the video till it came to an end. Right from the word go, where The Senior Advocate points out that best way to serve a nation would by becoming a lawyer. Although the whole speech is a must watch, the major take away for every young lawyer to inculcate in their lives are:

  1. Be punctual – that goes a long way in building your character. As The Senior Advocate told, even without any vehicle, he used to be in office by sharp 7:30 at the time when even the Autos were not readily plying.
  2. Don’t run after money –Establish yourself and do good work and money will come to you even when you are not thinking about it. The Senior Advocate’s life is the best example we can follow for this principle. During his early days, he used to get Rs 100 for the month but he was content with it and the hard work done by him can be seen in the form of his peak achievements.
  3. Never Waste Time: Even when you don’t have any work, sit in library, make notes from Journals, check out landmark judgments, When you are waiting for your case, listen to the arguments of other attorneys – all those have years of experience, note down the authorities cited by them. All this will come handy when you get your cases, time will be saved and can be used to enhance the argument more.
  4. Hard Work: Nothing will take you forward more than hard work. It was amazing to hear the efforts put by The Senior Advocate in all his works. A very amusing example is checking of the Cause List which used to run up to 200 pages. In those times, the only way to know about listing is to go through the whole Cause List and The Senior Advocate used to go an hour early to sort it out for his seniors and was never picky about leaving time. He used to walk off even as late as 10 pm at a time when there was no conveyance available in late hours. Hard work always pays off so never shy away from work.

My personal experience: Listening to this speech was a wonderful experience for me and I thank you The Senior Advocate for giving this opportunity. I feel truly privileged get to know such a great personality. The speech was educational and a step towards guidance to all the youngsters. This kind of eye-opening speeches should be given in their law colleges also. I too shall try and inculcate all the lessons imparted by The Senior Advocate in my life.
